Christina Nicolaides is proud to present Extraordinary Balls

Director of Gencua, Christina Nicolaides presents Extraordinary Balls

I met Hattie Hassan and Mica May through stepping up and joining XL. XL is the world’s leading entrepreneur and social enterprise network. Extraordinary Balls is Hattie’s creation and is her vision to raise money for charity and have a ball doing it.

This year’s Extraordinary Ball is a global one. One ball in eight cities around the globe for one cause. Proceeds from the event will go to The Hunger Project in India and the target is $250,000.

It was a real privilege to be asked to get involved and present the Extraordinary Balls vision. At Gencia, producing videos for our clients’ and video specifically the Internet is second nature and something we do a lot of however I had never been asked to star in my own video before.

I had a 10 minute slot to get it right and a very quick delivery deadline. I have an amazing team at Gencia and everyone got behind me to turn the video around in 3 days.

The next stage of our involvement with Extraordinary Balls is to tell people about the ball which I am really looking forward to. I will let you know more about this over the coming weeks.

Charity begins at home

Gencia Director, Christina Nicolaides, has been asked to become a Trustee of a new social enterprise (HATS) and opening with the first of an annual: INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOWCASE in September as part of London Fashion Week.

The aim and objective of the charity is to raise funds for those globally affected by natural disasters and sustain this through the social enterprise and holding annual events.

I was approached about being a Trustee by Lorraine Gabriel, Director of Gabriel Media International.

Being a Trustee is a  huge responsibility and it is one that I am really looking forward to and I'm honoured to accept.

We are registering the Social Enterprise on: Thursday 26th June, at 6pm in London.

Fusion Awards 2008 presented by Christina Nicolaides

On the 24th May, I presented the Fusion Awards 2008 which is the Asian Fashion Awards.

The evening was split into two - what the local fashion houses had to offer and rewarding local businesses for what they had achieved this year.   It was great to see 350 local businesses doing well and being recognised within the North West.
