Background

GE is one of the most admired organisations in the world and employs over 16,000 people in the UK alone. GE Access is a leading distributor of computing technologies and services, with offices across Europe utilising a bespoke version of Gencia's LiveWire Newsletter system for external communications.


Challenge

Key to the ongoing success of any distribution network is the maintenance of the relationship between the distributor and the vendors. GE Access asked Gencia to provide a cost effective method of cleansing their existing vendor database, avoiding the costly and painstaking process of phoning all the vendors individually and manually updating the records.


Solution

An online competition based on our 'Instant Win' platform with a high-tech theme and visual references to recent movie blockbusters. The system is easily adapted to suit many different types of online promotion and has proved to be a consistently successful method of data capture for both B2C and B2B audiences. In this case a random 5 digit electronic key was entered to enable players to 'get access' to the secure area and win from a selection of high-tech gadgets. Users were required to check and update their profile before they could enter the playing area. 'Can you get access' was a resounding success - with 76% of vendors entering and 26% of the records in the database updated.
